Let AI Fix Your Slice (and Your Life)

Hey Pops,

Tried fixing my golf game by throwing money at new clubs. Then threw my actual clubs.
Still trash.
AI might be my last hope.
Meanwhile, my kid spent $45 on duct tape for a “rocket ship.” Priorities.

This week’s lineup:

  • AI that actually helps you swing better, not just look cooler
  • Work tools that make you seem competent (even on Mondays)
  • Automation tricks to free up dad time

Let’s start the week strong.

USING AI TO ACTUALLY FIX YOUR GOLF GAME INSTEAD OF BUYING MORE CLUBS

THE SITUATION:

You've bought every training aid on Golf Galaxy's website and your handicap is still embarrassing. Meanwhile, some kid is breaking par after watching AI swing analysis videos. Time to stop throwing money at the problem.

ASK CHATGPT:

"I'm a [handicap] golfer who struggles with [slice/hook/inconsistent contact]. Create a practice plan using AI swing analysis apps and give me specific drills that will drop my scores fastest. I play [frequency] and practice [frequency]."

FOLLOW-UP PROMPT: "Set up an AI golf improvement system that tracks my stats, analyzes my rounds, and tells me exactly what to work on. Include course management strategies for someone who shouldn't be hitting driver on every hole."

REALITY CHECK: If you're not using AI to analyze your swing, you're basically guessing. And your guessing sucks.

USING AI TO MAKE YOU LOOK LIKE THE COMPETENT ONE AT WORK

THE SITUATION:

Your coworkers are getting promoted while you're still figuring out basic Excel formulas. Meanwhile, some 25-year-old is using AI to do in 10 minutes what takes you all afternoon. Time to level up or get left behind.

ASK CHATGPT:

"Help me identify AI tools that can make me more efficient at work in [your role/industry]. Include automation for repetitive tasks, better presentation and communication skills, and ways to analyze data that make me look smart in meetings."

FOLLOW-UP PROMPT: "Create a system for using AI to prepare for meetings, generate insights from data, and communicate complex ideas clearly. Include templates and processes that make me the go-to person for getting things done."

REALITY CHECK: While you’re wrestling Excel, AI guy already left for his kid’s soccer game.

BUILDING AI WORKFLOWS THAT HANDLE THE BORING STUFF SO YOU CAN FOCUS ON DAD DUTIES

THE SITUATION:

You're spending hours every week on repetitive tasks that a computer should handle. Email responses, scheduling, basic research, organizing files – all the stuff that keeps you from actually being present with your family.

ASK CHATGPT:

"Analyze my typical week and identify tasks that can be automated with AI tools. Create workflows for [email management, calendar scheduling, document organization, etc.] that run in the background and free up at least 5 hours per week."

FOLLOW-UP PROMPT: "Set up AI systems that handle my routine communications, automatically sort and prioritize my tasks, and give me daily briefings on what actually needs my attention. Make it simple enough that I don't need to maintain it constantly."

REALITY CHECK: If you're still manually doing things that AI can handle, you're working harder than you need to. Let the robots do the boring stuff while you be the dad.

AI BYTE

The numbers don't lie:

  • Meta, Amazon, Alphabet and Microsoft are investing $320 billion this year in AI (Forbes)
  • 64% of top CEOs identified AI as their #1 investment priority in 2024 (McKinsey)
  • AI market projected to hit $184 billion this year (Statista)

"The risk isn't people losing their job to AI. It's losing their job to somebody else who knows how to use AI." – Code.org CEO (TechCrunch)

The fact that you're subscribed and reading this newsletter shows you're motivated and ahead of the curve. While everyone else is still figuring out what AI even is, you're already learning how to use it.

P.S. For those interested, I’m working on some more in-depth, higher-level material. Playbooks, guides, maybe even a course. Stay tuned.

ONE THING TO TRY THIS WEEK

Use AI to audit your family's subscriptions and recurring expenses.

Ask ChatGPT:
"Help me create a system to track and analyze all my family's recurring expenses. Include strategies for negotiating better rates, identifying services we don't actually use, and setting up alerts for price increases or renewal dates."

Stop hemorrhaging money on subscriptions you forgot about. AI can help you find the financial leaks and actually plug them.
